Keep Okoboji Blue ~ Arnolds Park, Iowa
Hello to all who love your Iowa Great Lakes:

When swimming or just sitting on the beach I'm always inspired by
the clear, sparkling water and pleasant views of our Iowa Great
Lakes. It may be therapy or a break from the daily grind, but I know
it’s a feeling that is shared by many of you. You can't help being
moved — knowing that these are your lakes — your precious, incredible
natural lakes, and how rare they are. Every time you swim, fish, boat
or just pass by them, please take a moment to be proud of them,
because they're yours, they're your fragile wonderful lakes and they
need constant care to remain clean and pure. And one of the best ways
you can do your part in caring for them is by joining your local lake
protective associations. Your yearly membership fee will contribute
to projects that help maintain and improve lake quality. Please
become a vital part of this concerted effort to protect these
important natural resources. That means all of us, not just lake
shore dwellers. The Lakes are why people come here. Without them we'd
be just one more wind-swept prairie town; and they need, deserve
actually, your help now. Residents, retailers and developers take note!

Here’s a list of Protective associations for the Iowa Great Lakes for
your consideration: East Okoboji Lakes Improvement Corporation,
Spirit Lake Protective Association, Three Lakes Improvement
Association, Okoboji Protective Association, Center Lake Improvement
Preservation and Silver Lake Park Improvement Association. Look for
membership applications in the Dickinson County News and elsewhere
this summer to fill out and send in with your membership fee(s). Your
lake association friends will welcome your help, and, more
importantly, so will your lakes.

Sincerely, Deidre Rosenboom
